MLB action comes to Oakland Coliseum Friday where the Oakland Athletics host the Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels attack totaled 13 hits and a base on balls with Zack Cozart, Albert Pujols and Kole Calhoun cracking solo homers. Calhoun also scored twice and Andrelton Simmons recorded an RBI and scored while four players accounted for eleven hits for Los Angeles.The Angels send left hander Tyler Skaggs to the bump for his first appearance of the season. Skaggs went 2-6 with a 4.55 ERA in 16 starts in 2017 over 85 innings of work.
The Oakland Athletics overcame poor starting pitching to squeeze past the Angels thanks to stellar performances from the bullpen. Oakland starter Kendall Graveman was charged with all five runs on seven hits including three solo jacks over five innings before four relievers tossed six scoreless frames.
The Athletics saw Matt Olson go solo with Khris Davis going 2-5 with a three run bomb and four RBI’s. Marcus Semian gave he A’s three hits, pair of runs and an RBI while Matt Joyce recorded a run. Sean Manaea begins his third season with the Athletics when he opposes the Angels on Friday. Manaea made 29 starts for Oakland in 2016 where he went 12-10 with a 4.37 ERA.
