The Chicago White Sox battle the Kansas City Royals in Saturday MLB action at Kauffman Stadium.
The Chicago White Sox overcame a 4-0 first inning deficit at Kansas City to pound out a 14-7 win on opening day. Chicago starter James Shields allowed four runs in the first but tossed baseball over the next five frames before the pen took over. The White Sox amassed 14 hits with Matt Davidson clubbing three homers with five RBI’s and four runs while Tim Anderson gave Chicago two more long balls and drove in three with three runs scored.

Jose Abreu went deep and drove in two while the CWS saw Yolmer Sanchez drove in three. Right hander Lucas Giolito toes the rubber against Kansas City on Saturday. Giolito made just seven starts last season where he went 3-3 with a 2.38 ERA covering 45.1 innings.
The Kansas City Royals began opening day looking great with a 4-0 lead in the first but the pitching imploded and the offense couldn’t keep up. Kansas City starter Danny Duffy was charged with five runs on three homers followed by Blaine Boyer who served up two homers and three runs in an inning. Four relievers allowed six runs as the game got out of hand after the 4th.
KC posted nine hits and a pair of walks with Lucas Duda leading the way with a three run bomb in the 1st while Mike Moustakas went 2-5 with a run driven in and two scored. Kansas City turns to right hander Ian Kennedy for Saturday’s start versus the White Sox. Kennedy made 30 starts in 2017 and went 5-13 with a 5.38 ERA while allowing 34 long balls.
Chicago White Sox are 20-46 in their last 66 road games. Under is 5-2-2 in Kennedy’s last 9 Saturday starts.
I don’t think I want to touch Kansas City after what we saw from the White Sox on opening day. I’d rather go small on the nice odds…
