The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Sunday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.
The San Francisco Giants hope to take three of four from their rival before coming home for the Seattle Mariners. The Giants just can’t get any offense going, as they would be scoreless in three games if it weren’t for two solo Joe Panik homers that somehow won them the first two contests in this series. So far, it looks a lot like last seasons efforts, as run production is like pulling teeth for this club. Joe Panik leads the Giants with five hits and two RBI while Hunter Pence and Brandon Crawford have combined for five hits. The San Francisco Giants have scored three or less runs in five of their last seven games. Chris Stratton gets the ball, and he was 4-4 with a 3.68 ERA and 51 strikeouts last season. Stratton is 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA and four strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hope to split this series before going on the road for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers finally got some run production going, scoring five runs in Saturday’s victory, after being shutout in the first two games. The Los Angeles Dodgers have now won nine straight regular season games when scoring more than one run, which is a rather impressive statistic. Matt Kemp and Chris Taylor have combined for four hits and one RBI while Yasmani Grandal has two hits. Rich Hill gets the ball, and he was 12-8 with a 3.32 ERA and 166 strikeouts last season. Hill is 5-2 with a 2.43 ERA and 60 strikeouts in his career against the Giants.
The Giants are 3-13 in their last 16 during game 4 of a series, 1-4 in Strattons last 5 road starts and 2-6 in their last 8 Sunday games. The Dodgers are 6-2 in their last 8 during game 4 of a series, 5-1 in Hills last 6 home starts and 6-1 in Hills last 7 starts. The under is 4-0 in Hills last 4 home starts vs. Giants and the under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings.
Last season, in 78 innings, Rich Hill had an ERA of 2.77 with an allowed batting average of .179 at Dodger Stadium. Those aren't the kind of numbers you want to see when the Giants have been shutout in three games outside of two Panik homers. Stratton had his moments last year, but he's a pitcher with just 10 career starts under his belt, and while rather consistent down the stretch, he's a lot tougher to trust than Hill, who has been money when pitching in Los Angeles. I don't want to lay the heavy juice, so I'm going to take the Los Angeles Dodgers and the run line. I need to see the Giants offense wake up before I can trust them. This looks a lot like last season.
