The Miami Marlins host the Chicago Cubs in the finale’ of their MLB series on Sunday.

The Chicago Cubs rode a four run 9th and outstanding relief pitching to a 10-6 win at Miami on Saturday. Chicago starter Yu Darvish was charged with five runs over 4.1 frames but five relievers tossed scoreless baseball the rest of the way. Anthony Rizzo topped the Chicago attack with three runs driven in while Jason Heyward drove in a run and scored. Chicago has named left hander Jose Quintana as the starter for the final game of the series at Miami. In 14 starts with the Cubs Quintana went 7-3 with a 3.74 ERA in 84.1 frames.

The Miami Marlins made the Cubs work overtime but in the end a game slipped away that was winnable. Miami starter Odrisamer Despaigne gave up five runs (four earned) through five innings before Brad Ziegler allowed four runs in the 10th to get the loss.

The Marlins totaled nine hits and three bases on balls with Derek Dietrich going deep and driving in two while Starlin Castro singled in a pair. Miami saw Lewis Brinson and Bryan Holaday each drive in a run and score as all but two reached base.

The Marlins have tabbed Dillon Peters as Sunday afternoons starter against visiting Chicago. Peters made seven starts in his rookie campaign of 2017 where he went 1-2 with a 5.17 ERA.

Chicago Cubs are 7-2 in Quintana’s last 9 starts and Chicago Cubs are 7-2 in Quintana’s last 9 starts on grass. Miami  are 7-2 in their last 9 home games and over is 4-1 in Marlins last 5 home games.

I am backing Chicago because I don’t know if Peters is going to throw strikes or not which could lead to runs given up early…
