Friday night MLB  action features the  Toronto Blue  Jays visiting  the Texas  Rangers.

The Toronto Blue Jays look for better production at the plate as the team tries to rebound from a 4-3 loss to the White Sox. Toronto starter Aaron Sanchez gave up three runs and struck out seven over six frames for a ND with Ryan Tepera serving up a solo homer to absorb the loss.

The Blue Jays managed seven hits and a BB with Steve Pearce driving in a run and scoring while Russell Martin and Kendrys Morales recorded RBI’s. Marco Estrada gets the ball from Toronto in the series opener at the Rangers on Friday. Estrada comes off of a 5-3 win (ND) versus the Yankees with three runs allowed in seven frames.

The Texas Rangers come off of a 6-3 victory at Oakland behind solid work on the mound and some early offense. Texas starter Martin Perez gave up three runs on ten hits over 5.1 innings to get the win.

The Rangers pounded out ten hits and walked twice with Shin-Soo Choo cracking a two run bomb with Rougned Odor driving in a run and scoring. Left hander Matt Moore makes his second start of the year for Texas in the series opener versus Toronto. Moore began 2018 with a 9-3 loss to Houston with four runs plated in four innings.

Under is 8-2 in Toronto last 10 overall and Toronto are 8-20 in their last 28 Friday games and over is 7-3 in Estrada’s last 10 starts on grass. Under is 6-2 in Texas last 8 overall and under is 6-2 in Texas last 8 on grass and under is 17-7-2 in Texas last 26 Friday games. Over is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings in Texas and over is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings.

I don’t see a ton of difference on the mound but I think Estrada has some better numbers and gets the job done here…
