MLB comes to Coors Field where the Colorado Rockies welcome the Atlanta Braves to town on Saturday.
The Atlanta Braves looked very good at Washington and carried that momentum in to the series opener at Colorado where the team stormed to an 8-3 victory. Braves starter Brandon McCarthy allowed three runs over six frames with three relievers tossing shutout baseball.

Atlanta pounded out eleven hits and walked seven times with Ozzie Albies going solo and scoring twice with Dansby Swanson going 3-5 with three RBI’s and a run. The Braves saw McCarthy smack a two run double while Freddie Freeman and Preston Tucker both scored and knocked in runs.
The Braves have tabbed Anibal Sanchez for Saturday’s start at Coors Field. Sanchez’s first appearance of 2018 was a scoreless three inning effort in relief at Washington.
The Colorado Rockies struggled on the mound and the bats had no answer in Friday’s one sided loss to visiting Atlanta. Colorado starter German Marquez gave up seven runs on seven hits and six BB through 4.2 frames.
The Rockies totaled seven hits and two walks with Carlos Gonzalez going deep and driving in two while Trevor Story clubbed a solo homer followed by Nolan Arenado who was 2-4 with a run.
The Rockies will be sending Chad Bettis to the bump Saturday for his second outing of 2018. Bettis comes in off of a 7-4 victory at San Diego where he gave up a pair of runs over five frames.
