The Los Angeles Angels look to stay hot after winning six of their last seven games. The Angels have scored 29 runs in their last three games and seven or more runs in four of their last six games. The Los Angeles Angels have won six straight games when scoring at least one run. Andrelton Simmons leads the Angels with 14 hits and seven RBI while Zack Cozart and Albert Pujols have combined for 18 hits and seven RBI. JC Ramirez gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA and three strikeouts this season. Ramirez is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA and 15 strikeouts in his career against the Athletics.
The Athletics are 6-2 in their last 8 road games, 0-4 in their last 4 during game 2 of a series and 1-4 in Triggs' last 5 starts. The Angels are 16-5 in their last 21 during game 2 of a series, 2-5 in Ramirezs last 7 home starts and 6-1 in Ramirezs last 7 Saturday starts. The Athletics are 3-13 in the last 16 meetings in Los Angeles, 2-8 in the last 10 meetings and the over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.
Triggs was solid in his season debut and actually had much better numbers on the road than he did at home last season. Ramirez was hit hard in his season opener, and he had a 4.80 ERA with an allowed batting average of .266 at home last season. In limited at bats, the A's current hitters have owned Ramirez as well. However, I can't back the A's in their current form, as this young team keeps finding ways to lose games and last night was another example. The offense doesn't show up when the pitching does. The pitching stinks up the joint when the offense performs. The defense is questionable at best. The Angels are raking right now. Give me the home team and the cheap price.
