We have more AL East action on tap in Saturday’s MLB schedule as the Baltimore Orioles take on the New York Yankees in game three of their four game weekend set.

The Baltimore Orioles will look to win the series and push for the surprising sweep on Sunday after taking game two in 14 innings by a final score of 7-3. All of the O’s damage on the scoreboard was done with the long ball, as Pedro Alvarez won the game with a grand slam in the 14th, going 2 for 2 with four RBIs, while Manny Machado hit a pair of solo homers as part of his 4 for 5 day at the dish, , and Chris Davis belted out a solo shot of his own. Adam Jones and Anthony Santander each added a base hit of their own respectively to round out the offensive output for Baltimore in the win. Kevin Gausman gave up a pair of runs on five hits while striking out three over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Miguel Castro notched his first blown save of the year while Pedro Araujo improved to 1-1 with the win, throwing two innings of relief. Chris Tillman will start game three and is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA this season. In his career, Tillman is 8-8 with a 5.54 ERA and 88 strikeouts against the Yankees.

New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles - 4/7/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Yankees will look to take a step towards a series split after dropping game two on Friday. Didi Gregorius belted out a solo homer, while Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton each added an RBI to round out the trio of RBIs for the Yankees on the board in the loss. Brett Gardner added a double while Neil Walker chipped in a base hit of his own to finish off the offense for Baltimore in the losing effort. CC Sabathia went four innings, giving up three runs on four hits while striking out three, not factoring in the decision. Jonathan Holder gave up the game-deciding grand slam in the 14th, taking the loss to fall to 0-1 this season. Sonny Gray will start game three and is 0-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 8 strikeouts this season. In his career, Gray is 2-4 with a 5.28 ERA and 32 strikeouts against Baltimore.

Baltimore is 17-7 in Tillman’s last 24 division starts and 7-24 in their last 31 games overall while the under is 8-1 in their last 9 games against a right-handed starter. New York is 2-5 in Gray’s last 7 starts and 22-6 in their last 28 home games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a right-handed starter. Baltimore is 11-5 in Tillman’s last 16 starts against the Yankees.

I’m not sure what’s going on with the Yankees, but it may just be early season kinks that will eventually be worked out as the lineup starts to gel. However, until then, we’ve cashed on Baltimore in the first two games of the series as major underdogs and I’m going to try to push my luck for a 3rd here. With both teams playing in the marathon game last night, we are sure to see some tired legs, and given the quick turnaround, you have to look for little edges here and there, like Baltimore has on the mound given Tillman’s success against the Yankees over the last couple of years. I’ll take a stab at the Orioles and the huge plus money on Saturday.
