The Cincinnati Reds have yet to get going and will be looking to put Friday’s 14-3 defeat at Pittsburgh behind them. Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo was charged with four runs over five frames with Yovani Gallardo and Austin Brice surrendered a combined ten runs in an inning.

The Reds racked up 13 hits and three walks Jesse Winker going 3-5 with an RBI while Joey Votto went 2-4 and drove in a run. Cincinnati has named Sal Romano as Saturday’s starter at Pittsburgh. Romano comes in off of a 6-5 loss to Washington where he allowed three runs in six inning of work.
The Pittsburgh Pirates cranked up the offense for Friday’s win against rival Cincinnati. Pittsburgh starter Trevor Williams allowed two runs on ten hits over 3.1 innings before the bullpen took control.
The Pirates amassed 15 hits and six walks with Colin Moran going 4-5 with three RBI’s and three runs followed by Starling Marte with another three runs driven in while Josh Harrison and Gregory Polanco both drove in two and scored two.
Right hander Chad Kuhl gets the start from the Pirates looking for his second straight win. Kuhl defeated Detroit in his first outing 8-6 with four runs plated through 5.2 frames.
