The Line: Baltimore Orioles -117 / Toronto Blue Jays +107 --- Over/Under: 8.5 See the Latest Odds

We have some AL East action on Monday as the Toronto Blue Jays kick off a three game set against the Baltimore Orioles from Camden Yards.

The Toronto Blue Jays will look to find some form of consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games, including a 7-4 win over Texas in their series finale on Sunday to give the Rangers the series victory. Kendrys Morales led the Jays with three RBIs, going 1 for 4 with a three run homer. Steve Pearce hit a solo shot of his own, while Curtis Grandson, Kevin Pillar and Luke Maile each had an RBI to round out the scoring for Toronto in the win, with Maile also chipping in a double. Justin Smoak and Yangervis Solarte each had a pair of base hits while Josh Donaldson added a base knock of his own in the victory. Jaime Garcia went 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on five hits while walking a pair and striking out five. Roberto Osuna closed out the 9th for his 4th save of the year. J.A. Happ will start game one and is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA and 14 strikeouts this season. In his career, Happ is 4-6 with a 3.45 ERA and 85 strikeouts against Baltimore.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays - 4/9/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Baltimore Orioles will look to build some steam after taking 3 of 4 from the Yankees over the weekend, including an 8-7 win over New York in the series finale on Sunday. Anthony Santander led the O’s, going 3 for 6 with a home run and three RBIs. Danny Valencia added a long ball of his own with two RBIs, while Tim Beckham went 2 for 6 with a double and an RBI. Manny Machado and Craig Gentry each contributed an RBI, while Adam Jones went 3 for 6 at the dish, Trey Mancini and Jonathan School each notched base hits of their own in the victory. Mike Wright Jr. lasted just 0.2 innings in the start, giving up five runs, two earned, on five hits, not factoring in the decision. Richard Bleier threw three scoreless innings of relief to get the win to improve to 2-0 this year, while Brad Brach notched his 2nd save of the year, closing out his half of the 12th inning. Dylan Bundy will start game one and is 0-0 with a 0.69 ERA and 15 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bundy is 3-0 with a 0.76 ERA and 26 strikeouts against Toronto.

Toronto is 5-2 in Happ’s last 7 starts and 5-2 in their last 7 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 division matchups. Baltimore is 7-25 in their last 32 games overall and 1-4 in Bundy’s last 5 starts while the over is 5-1 in Bundy’s last 6 division starts. Toronto is 0-4 in Happ’s last 4 starts against Baltimore and 1-4 in Happ’s last 5 road starts in Baltimore.

The pitching numbers favor the Orioles here, as Bundy has been very strong to start the year, and has owned the Jays in his career, while Hapo has been up and down to start the year and has had his down moments against Baltimore. However, even though the O’s just took three of four from the Yankees, I feel like getting the Blue Jays at plus money is a steal considering that the O’s haven’t won many of Bundy’s outings as of late, dating back to last season, even though he’s been sharp for the most part. I’ll take Toronto here.
