Out at Fenway Park on Tuesday, we’ve got Game 1 of an AL East rivalry series in the MLB as the New York Yankees visit the Boston Red Sox.

New York is coming out of a four-game set versus the Orioles. The Yankees won on Saturday but lost the other three.

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees - 4/10/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

New York will be rolling with RHP Luis Severino on Tuesday. In his 13.0 innings and 2-0 record this year, Severino has a 1.38 ERA with 14 Ks.

Sitting atop the leading Yankees hitters this year is Didi Gregorius with 12 hits, 10 runs and 10 RBI. Aaron Judge has 11 hits, eight runs and seven RBI while Gary Sanchez is struggling on just two hits and a .063 BA.

Over on the Sox’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the Rays. Boston won all three of those games 3-2, 10-3 and 8-7.

Boston will be going with lefty Cris Sale on Tuesday. In his 11.0 innings so far this year, Sale has  a 0.82 ERA with 15 Ks and three walks.

Tops in hitting for the Red Sox is Xander Bogaerts with 14 hits, seven runs and nine RBI. Both Mookie Betts and Hanley Ramirez have 12 hits, and a combined 13 runs with 10 RBI.

The Yankees are 5-0 in their last five Tuesday games and 14-5 in their last 19 following a loss. New York is also 3-9 in their last 12 road games and 5-2 in their last seven following an off day.

Meanwhile, the Sox are 4-1 in their last five home games and 8-0 in their last eight overall. Boston is also 7-0 in their last seven following a win and 7-1 in Sale’s last eight Tuesday starts.

Boston is looking a little better than expected so far this season, and the Yankees haven’t gotten anywhere near living up to their preseason hype. New York is dealing with several injuries to their ideal lineup right now, and a few of their key players simply aren’t performing well. I can’t find a whole lot of reasons to pick New York here, so I’m going Red Sox.
