The Chicago White Sox host the Tampa Bay Rays in game two of their MLB series.
The Tampa Bay Rays had just enough hitting and pitching to down the White Sox 5-4 in the series opener Monday. Tampa Bay starter Chris Archer was charged with all four runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out eight over 5.2 frames.

The Rays racked up 14 hits and three BB with Joey Wendle going deep and Matt Duffy going 2-5 with a pair of RBI’s followed by Carlos Gomez with two runs. Tampa Bay sends Blake Snell to the bump to face the White Sox for his third start of 2018. Snell suffered a 7-2 loss at the Yankees last time out where he was charged with five runs over 3.1 frames.
The Chicago White Sox have been erratic in the early stages of 2018 and that trend continued in Monday’s loss to Tampa Bay. Chicago starter Miguel Gonzales was charged with four runs on eight hits through 4.1 frames with Aaron Bummer giving up the eventual winner.
The White Sox posted nine hits and five bases on balls with Nicky Delmonico going 2-4 with a homer and two RBI’s while Yoan Moncada was 2-3 with two walks and two runs. The White Sox have named Carson Fulmer as Tuesday’s starter against visiting Tampa Bay. Fulmer comes off of a 4-3 win (ND) at Toronto with three runs plated on five hits in five innings.
Tampa Bay are 11-5 in their last 16 Tuesday games and Tampa Bay are 5-13 in Snell’s last 18 starts on grass. Chicago White Sox are 7-19 in their last 26 Tuesday games. Tampa Bay are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Chicago and over is 14-5-1 in the last 20 meetings in Chicago.
Fulmer is the Wild Card to me because he has six career starts and a small track record. Tampa Bay might have an edge but it’s not huge…
