Coming up Thursday from Kauffman Stadium, the Los Angeles Angels and the Kansas City Royals will be kicking off their MLB series.
The Angels are coming off a set versus the Rangers. LA posted wins Monday and Tuesday, then in the Wednesday finale, the Angels cruised to a 7-2 victory.

In the Thursday game, the Angels will be going with Nick Tropenao for the start. This marks the season debut for Tropeano, who hasn't pitched since July of 2016 due to Tommy John surgery.
Heading up the offense coming into the Wednesday finale was Andrelton Simmons, who gave the Angels 19 hits, 12 runs and eight RBI in that span. On Thursday, Simmons and Albert Pujols combined to go 0-for-8.
Over on the Royals’ side, they just finished up against the Mariners. KC and Seattle split the first pair of games, then on Wednesday, the Royals lost 4-2.
Kansas City is rolling with RHP Ian Kennedy on Thursday. In his 12.0 innings and 1-0 record this year, Kennedy has a 0.75 ERA with 13 Ks and two BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Royals entering Wednesday was Mike Moustakas, with 11 hits, two doubles, six runs and eight RBI. In the Wednesday game, Moustakas had two hits and a run.
The Angels are 3-10 in their last 13 versus the AL Central and 0-5 in their last five Thursday games. The under is 4-1 in LA’s last four Thursday games and the over is 4-1 in their last five in game one of a series.
Meanwhile, the Royals are 1-6 in the last seven Thursday games and 2-5 in Kennedy’s last seven home starts. KC is 3-9 in their last 12 in game one of a series and 1-4 in Kennedy’s last five starts in game one of a series.
The Royals have shown a few flashes in this young season, and Kennedy has pitched pretty well thus far. That said, the Angels seem to be doing better than expected already and should be solid in a comfy home opener here. It may be close, but I’m going LA here.
