The Arizona Diamondbacks visit the Los Angeles Dodgers in a Friday MLB matchup.
The surging Arizona Diamondbacks have won three of four after a 7-3 win at San Francisco. Arizona starter Robbie Ray was charged with all three runs over 4.2 frames before five relievers tossed scoreless baseball the rest of the way.
The Diamondbacks totaled nine hits led by Paul Goldschmidt who went 2-4 with a homer and three RBI’s while John Ryan Murphy was 2-3 with a homer and two runs. Ketael Marte gave Arizona three hits, two runs and an RBI and Daniel Descalso drove in a run and scored.
The Diamondbacks send veteran right hander Zack Greinke to the hill in the series opener at the Dodgers. Greinke comes off of a 5-3 defeat at St. Louis with all five runs allowed on nine hits over five frames.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are trying to rebound from a slow start but missed out on a three game winning streak after a 16-6 loss to Oakland where the work on the mound struggled. LA Dodger starter Alex Wood seven runs over 3.2 innings before three relievers gave nine runs in four innings.
The Dodgers racked up 12 hits but did not walk with Enrique Hernandez smacking a solo homer while Yasmani Grandal went 3-4 with a homer and two RBI’s. Matt Kemp gave the Dodgers three hits and a pair of runs while eight starters drove in runs and or scored.
Kenta Maeda draws his second start of the year from the Dodgers on Friday. Maeda began the season with a 5-0 win versus San Francisco with ten strikeouts over five shutout innings.
Arizona are 7-2 in their last 9 overall and Arizona are 7-2 in their last 9 games on grass and under is 18-8-4 in Greinke’s last 30 on grass. LA Dodgers are 20-6 in their last 26 Friday games and under is 6-2 in LA Dodgers last 8 home games and LA Dodgers are 61-25 in their last 86 home games.
