For Friday’s matchup, the Sox will be carting out Reynaldo Lopez in the start. From his 13.0 innings and 0-1 record so far, Lopez has a 0.69 ERA with 11 Ks and seven walks.

Heading into this set, Avisail Garcia was the top White Sox hitter with 13 hits, five runs and three RBI to his name. On Thursday, Garcia went 0-for-3.

Over on the Twins’ side, they haven’t yet announced a starter for Friday’s game but we’ll update when they do.

Coming into this series, Brian Dozier and Joe Mauer were tied for the lead on the Twins’ lineup with 12 hits apiece and 16 runs between them. On Thursday, Dozier and Mauer combined for three hits, four RBI and two runs.

The White Sox are 6-21 in their last 27 during game two of a series and 4-1 in Lopez’s last five starts on grass. Chicago is also 1-4 in their last five Friday games and the over is 4-1 in Lopez’s last five starts on grass.

Meanwhile, the Twins are 8-2 in the last 10 Friday games and the under is 7-2-1 in their last 10 during game two of a series. The over is 9-3-2 in Minnesota’s last 14 Friday games and the Twins are 5-1 in the last six meetings of these teams in Minnesota.

This series is going to go a long way toward telling us what these two teams are made of this season. The Sox’ main strength here is putting Lopez on the mound—he’s allowed just one earned so far this season in a tough-luck loss. I’m going to go with Lopez to stay hot here and tame the Twins offense; if the Sox can muster a few runs they’ve got a good shot at a win.
