Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks - 4/15/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers could use a win here after losing seven of their last nine games. The Dodgers have allowed 33 runs in their last three games and six or more runs in six of their last nine games. The Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t won a game this season when allowing more than one run. Offensively, Cody Bellinger leads the Dodgers with 15 hits and four RBI while Yasmani Grandal and Chris Taylor have combined for 26 hits and 10 RBI. Clayton Kershaw gets the ball, and he is 0-2 with a 1.89 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season. Kershaw is 14-9  with a 2.56 ERA and 193 strikeouts in his career against the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks are 6-1 in their last 7 Sunday games, 4-1 in their last 5 road games and 35-17 in their last 52 overall. The Dodgers are 5-1 in their last 6 Sunday games, 49-11 in Kershaws last 60 home starts and 49-12 in Kershaws last 61 starts. The Diamondbacks are 11-29 in the last 40 meetings in Los Angeles, 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and the Dodgers are 5-1 in Kershaws last 6 starts vs. Diamondbacks.

It's simply nuts the prices you have to lay just because a pitcher with a big name is on the mound. Yes, Kershaw is great and has been pitching well, but the Dodgers are 1-2 this season with him on the mound and he hasn't been given the win in any of those starts. Godley has allowed eight hits and one run in 14 innings of work. Not to shabby from the Arizona starter. The bottom line is the Dodgers are off to an awful start, while the Arizona Diamondbacks are back in one of those can't lose zones. I'll gladly take the better team with a chance to make over two times my money.
