Tropicana Field and the Tampa Bay Rays welcome the Texas Rangers to town for a Tuesday MLB matchup.

The Texas Rangers fell behind Tampa Bay early and were never able to come back in an 8-4 loss on Monday. Texas starter Martin Perez allowed eight runs on ten hits over four frames before Jesse Chavez tossed four shutout innings.

The Rangers mustered eight hits and a base on balls with Nomar Mazara going 2-4 with a homer and three RBI’s while Joey Gallo clubbed his 6th long ball of the season.

The Rangers have named left hander Matt Moore as Tuesday’s starter at Tampa Bay. Moore comes off of a 7-2 loss to the Angels where he gave up three runs on seven hits and three BB over five innings.

The Tampa Bay Rays played one of their more complete games of the young season in Monday’s victory. Tampa Bay starter Blake Snell improved to 2-1 with a run given up over 6.1 innings while striking out nine before Chih-Wei Hu allowed three runs in 2.2 innings.

The Rays hammered out 13 hits and walked four times with Daniel Robertson and CJ Cron smacking solo homers. Wilson Ramos gave Tampa Bay a pair of RBI’s while Adeiny Hechavarria driving in a run and scoring. The Rays have not yet named a starter for Tuesday.

Under is 12-3-2 in Texas last 17 road games and over is 10-3 in Texas last 13 Tuesday games and under is 5-2-1 in Texas last 8 on astroturf. Tampa Bay  are 2-12 in their last 14 overall and over is 6-2 in Tampa Bay last 8 overall and under is 13-5 in Tampa Bay last 18 home games.

Tampa Bay hasn’t officially named a starter but I suspect it will be Yonny Chirinos who hasn’t allowed a run in 14.1 innings and I’ll back him…
