We have an NL East division matchup on Thursday, as the New York Mets take on the Atlanta Braves in game one of a four game MLB set from SunTrust Park.

The New York Mets will look to find some consistency after splitting their last six games, including avoiding the sweep at the hands of Washington with an 11-5 win in the series finale on Wednesday. Yoenis Cespedes led the Mets, going 2 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs. Todd Frazier and Juan Lagares each added two runs of their own, with Lagares doing his damage with a pinch-hit double. Michael Conforto, Adrian Gonzalez and Jose Lobaton each added a run on the board as well to round out the scoring for the Mets in defeat. Asdrubal Cabrera went 2 for 5 with a double as well in the victory. Steven Matz gave up three runs on three hits while striking out six, not factoring in the decision. AJ Ramos got the win to improve to 1-1 after tossing a perfect 8th inning of relief. Matt Harvey will start the series opener and is 0-1 with a 4.80 ERA and 13 strikeouts this season. In his career, Harvey is 3-6 with a 4.38 ERA and 48 strikeouts against Atlanta.

The Atlanta Braves will also seek some consistency after splitting their last ten games, but did emerge with the series victory after taking down Philadelphia on Wednesday by a final score of 7-3. Ryan Flaherty led the Braves with four RBIs, going 2 for 4 with a home run, while Dansby Swanson added a solo shot of his own and Kurt Suzuki chipped in a run on the board as well. Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis each went 2 for 4, while Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman added base hits of their own in the victory. Brandon McCarthy notched another win, improving to 3-0 after giving up just one run on five hits while walking a pair and striking out six over 5.1 innings of work. Matt Wisler will be making his season debut in this one and was 0-1 with an 8.35 ERA and 22 strikeouts last season. in his career, Wisler is 3-2 with a 3.66 ERA and 30 strikeouts against the Mets.

New York is 2-12 in Harvey’s last 14 starts against a team with a winning record and 15-41 in their last 56 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in Harvey’s last 5 road starts. Atlanta is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record above .600 and 9-4 in their last 13 game 1 matchups while the under is 8-1 in their last 9 games overall. New York is 1-6 in Harvey’s last 7 starts against Atlanta and 1-4 in Harvey’s last 5 road starts against Atlanta.

Two of the surprises out of the NL East go head-to-head on Thursday, and I say surprises considering how both ended up last season. The Mets are finally living up to their expectations, but are starting to look like they’re cooling off from their hot start. Atlanta hasn’t been a world beater by any means, but they’re looking like they’ve finally figured it out, however, it's recently come out that Matt Wisler is going to make this start after being called up from AAA, and if that's the case, I'll roll with the Mets to get to Wisler early and often in this one.
