The Cleveland Indians and the Baltimore Orioles square off in game two of their four game weekend set from Camden Yards on Saturday.
The Cleveland Indians will look to bounce back after losing 3 of their last 4 games, including a 3-1 loss at the hands of the O’s in game one on Friday. Edwin Encarnacion accounted for the lone run for the Tribe in the losing effort, while Michael Brantley went 2 for 4 with a double and Brandon Guyer added a two bagger of his own. Tyler Naquin went 2 for 2 at the dish, while Jason Kipnis chipped in a base knock of his own to finish off the offense for the Indians in the loss. Trevor Bauer took the loss, falling to 1-2 this season after giving up all three runs on five hits while walking three and striking out six over seven innings of work. Mike Clevinger will start game two and is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 14 strikeouts this season. In his career, Clevinger is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 19 strikeouts against Baltimore.

The Baltimore Orioles will be looking to pick up some steam after snapping their 6 game losing skid with their win in game two. Trey Mancini went 1 for 4 with two RBIs, while Manny Machado belted out another home run, a solo shot to round out the scoring for the Orioles in the win. Chris Davis went 2 for 4 with a double while Adam Jones added a two-bagger of his own and Luis Sardinas chipped in a base hit to finish off the offense for Baltimore in the win. Dylan Bundy notched his first win of the year, climbing to 1-2 after giving up just the one run on five hits while striking out nine over six innings of work. Darren O’Day struck out a pair in the 9th for his 1st save of the season. Chris Tillman will start game two and is 0-3 with an 11.91 ERA and 3 strikeouts this season. In his career, Tillman is 5-2 with a 4.71 ERA and 30 strikeouts against Cleveland.
Cleveland is 9-1 in Clevinger’s last 10 starts and 44-14 in their last 58 games overall while the under is 4-1-1 in Clevinger’s last 6 starts against the AL East. Baltimore is 1-5 in Tillman’s last 6 starts against a team with a winning record and 15-36 in their last 51 games overall while the over is 20-5-2 in Tillman’s last 27 starts against the AL Central. Baltimore is 4-0 in Tillman’s last 4 starts against Cleveland.
The plus money is tempting considering that Baltimore has had success with Tillman on the mound against Cleveland, and that the O’s stifled Cleveland in game one. However, Tillman has been rocked this season, giving up 15 earned runs in just 11.1 innings, and Cleveland has been pretty much money with Clevinger on the mound dating back to last season. Taking the Tribe on the run line has been dicey for me this season, but I’ll do it here as it’s the only way to cut down the heavy juice.
