Los Angeles Angels vs. San Francisco Giants - 4/21/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Angels need a victory here in order to snap a four-game losing streak. The Angels have allowed 25 runs in their last three games and eight or more runs in each of their last four games. The Los Angeles Angels have lost six of their last eight games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Albert Pujols leads the Angels with 23 hits and 10 RBI while Mike Trout and Andrelton Simmons have combined for 44 hits and 22 RBI. Garrett Richards gets the ball, and he is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 24 strikeouts this season. This will be Richards’ first career game against the Giants.

The Giants are 22-46 in their last 68 road games, 3-8 in their last 11 Saturday games and 2-5 in their last 7 overall. The Angels are 20-8 in their last 28 during game 2 of a series, 9-2 in Richards' last 11 interleague starts and 2-5 in Richards' last 7 home starts. The Giants are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Los Angeles.

Richards has been really impressive so far this season, allowing a combined six hits and four earned runs in his last 15 innings. Richards has also done most of his work this season so far on the road. On the other side, Holland has allowed three or less earned runs in each of his alst three games, he's just not getting much run support. Bottom line is, I'm not sure why anybody would be running to the counter to bet a Los Angeles Angels squad that's lost four straight, has struggled when playing decent teams and is getting beat up pitching wise during this four-game losing streak. The San Francisco Giants have been consistently competing, it's just the offense that doesn't show up night in and night out. Like last night, the value is on the Giants and the plus money.
