We have some AL West division MLB action on Sunday, as the Seattle Mariners square off against the Texas Rangers to conclude their three game weekend set.

The Seattle Mariners will be looking to finish off the sweep after taking the first two games of the series, including a 9-7 victory in game two on Saturday. Jean Segura, Robinson Cano, Nelson Cruz and Mitch Haniger each had two RBIs, with Cruz, Cano and Haniger each going yard, while Segura went 1 for 5 with a double. Dee Gordon went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI of his own to round out the scoring for the M’s in the victory. Daniel Vogelbach and Guillermo Heredia also contributed base hits in the winning effort for Seattle. James Paxton went just four innings, giving up five runs on six hits while walking three and striking out six, not factoring in the decision. Chasen Bradford got the win to improve to 2-0 this season, while Edwin Diaz got through 1.1 innings of relief for his 8th save of the year. Erasmo Ramirez will be making his regular season debut in the finale and was 5-6 with a 4.39 ERA and 109 strikeouts between Tampa Bay and Seattle last season. In his career, Ramirez is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA and 26 strikeouts against Texas.

Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners - 4/22/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers will look to avoid the sweep and salvage a win after dropping the first two games of the set, including Saturday’s game two defeat. Jurickson Profar led the Rangers with two RBIs, going 2 for 5 with a double, while Shin-Soo Choo went 2 for 5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Nomar Mazara and Ronald Guzman each added a double and an RBI while Adrian Beltre and Isiah Kiner-Falefa each contributed an RBI to finish off the scoring for Texas in the loss. Robinson Chirinos added a double of his own to round out the offensive output from the Rangers in the defeat. Bartolo Colon went 5.2 innings, giving up seven four runs on seven hits, not factoring in the decision. Alex Claudio notched his first blown save and loss of the year, failing to record an out while giving up four runs on four hits in the 7th. Martin Perez will start the finale and is 1-2 with a 13.14 ERA and 7 strikeouts this season. In his career, Perez is 6-4 with a 3.28 ERA and 63 strikeouts against Seattle.

Seattle is 1-5 in Ramirez’s last 6 starts and 5-1 in their last 6 road games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a left-handed starter. Texas is 7-21 in their last 28 home games and 3-9 in their last 12 games overall while the under is 4-1-1 in Perez’s last 6 division starts. Seattle is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Texas.

The Rangers have had success against Seattle with Perez on the mound, but you can’t justify backing Texas here, as Seattle has outplayed the Rangers in the first two games and now the Rangers send Perez out to the bump after giving up 15 runs in his last seven innings. No thank you. Even with Ramirez making his season debut here, I can’t go against the Mariners with Perez in his current form, so I’ll take Seattle for the sweep on Sunday.
