The Twins managed nine hits and five walks with Eduardo Escobar going deep and scoring twice followed by Brian Dozier with a pair of RBI’s and a run. Minnesota sends Jake Odorizzi to the hill to oppose the Yankees on Monday. Odorizzi comes off of a 6-2 loss at the hands of Cleveland where he gave up four runs on six hits including three homers over five frames.
The New York Yankees haven’t looked like the supposed best team in the AL East in the early going but did Sunday in a 5-1 victory versus the Blue Jays. New York starter Luis Severino allowed the lone run on three hits and two BB in seven frames to improve to 4-1.
The Yankees did their damage on nine hits and a trio of bases on balls with Didi Gregorius cracking a two run homer while Austin Romine doubled in two followed by Gary Sanchez with two runs.
Masahiro Tanaka toes the rubber against the Minnesota Twins who he last saw in 2016. Tanaka has struggled the past two times out with 12 runs allowed on 15 hits and four BB through ten innings.
Over is 5-2-1 in Minnesota last 8 Monday games and Minnesota are 3-7 in their last 10 road games. Over is 7-1 in NY Yankees last 8 home games and over is 13-2-1 in NY Yankees last 16 overall and NY Yankees are 22-7 in their last 29 Monday games. Under is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings and Minnesota are 13-40 in the last 53 meetings in New York.
Odorizzi has proven to be capable in this matchup and Tanaka has been even better but has been crushed the last two times out but my interest level is low...
