Over at Oriole Park on Thursday, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles will be meeting up in MLB action.
The Tuesday edition of this set was rained out, then on Wednesday the Rays put up four runs in the fifth inning in an 8-4 win.

For the Thursday matchup, the Rays will be going with RHP Chris Archer in the start. In his 27.1 innings and 1-1 mark this year, Archer has a 6.59 ERA with 29 Ks and 10 BBs.
Coming into this set, both CJ Cron and Mallex Smith led the Rays on 21 hits and had 16 combined RBI. On Wednesday, Cron had a hit and two RBI.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re rolling with Dylan Bundy in the start Thursday. Across 31.2 innings and a 1-2 record this year, Bundy has a 1.42 ERA with 40 Ks and nine walks.
Leading the way for the Orioles entering this series was Manny Machado on 32 hits, 13 runs, eight homers and 17 RBI. In the Wednesday game, Machado went 0-for-4.
The Rays are 2-5 in their last seven during game two of a series and 1-4 in Archer’s last five road starts. Tampa is also 1-5 in Archer’s last six road starts versus a team with a losing record and 10-22 in his last 32 starts with five days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 16-36 in their last 52 in game two of a series and 7-3 in Bundy’s last 10 home starts. Baltimore is also 2-6 in Bundy’s last eight starts and 1-4 in Bundy’s last five starts with five days’ rest.
Archer had a choppy start to the season, but he did put up two earned in 6.2 innings his last time up versus the Twins. As for Bundy, he’s been smooth all year and has only given up more than one earned run in one start (two in 7.0 innings versus Toronto). I’m going to stick with Bundy to stay hot here and pick an Orioles victory—provided the offense can give him a little coverage.
