The Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies take the field in Thursday MLB action.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will need every win they can muster and one got away in a 5-3 loss at Philadelphia Wednesday where both he arms and bats came up short. Arizona Starter Zack Greinke was charged with all five runs on nine hits over six innings to fall to 2-1.

The Diamondbacks managed five hits and four walks with Daniel Descalso, Chris Owings and Daniel Peralta driving in runs while Paul Goldschmidt scored twice. Arizona sends Matt Koch to the hill for his second straight start on Thursday. Koch comes off of a 4-1 defeat (ND) with the lone run given up on two hits and a pair of free passes over six frames.
The Philadelphia Phillies have played well in the early stages of 2018 and the success continued Wednesday. Philadelphia received a strong start from Jake Arrieta who gave up three runs (one earned) on four hits over seven frames to up his record to 3-0.
The Phillies pounded out ten hits and walked once with Aaron Altherr cracking a three run homer while Carlos Santana and Odubel Herrera each drove in a run and scored followed Cesar Hernandez with a pair of runs.
Philadelphia ends their series with the Diamondbacks with Ben Lively on the mound. Lively did not get a decision in a 2-1 win versus Pittsburgh with a run plated on two hits and two BB.
Arizona are 17-5 in their last 22 Thursday games and are 41-20 in their last 61 overall and are 41-20 in their last 61 games on grass. Under is 6-2-2 in Philadelphia last 10 on grass and Philadelphia are 20-7 in their last 27 home games and under is 6-2 in Lively’s last 8 starts overall. Under is 9-4-1 in the last 14 meetings.
I don’t fully trust Lively but Koch has just a handful of major league starts so something on Philadelphia but nothing big…
