The Athletics were limited to four hits and three bases on balls with Khris Davis accounting for the scoring with a two run homer in the third while Marcus Semien went 2-4 with a run.
Left Hander Sean Manaea looks to continue his hot start when he draws Friday’s starting assignment at Houston. Manaea comes off a complete game no hitter versus Boston in a 3-0 win where he struck out ten.
The Houston Astros will trying for back to back wins after a 5-2 win at he LA Angels prevented a series sweep. Houston starter Justin Verlander upped his record to 4-0 with both runs plated on four hits over seven innings while notching nine strikeouts.
The Astros did their damage on five hits and four free passes with Jake Marisnick and Jose Altuve clubbing solo bombs while Alex Bregman smacked a three run double.
Dallas Keuchel takes the ball for Houston against the visiting Athletics on Friday night. Keuchel comes in off of a 10-1 win at the White Sox with the lone run scoring through six innings.
