Right hander Zack Godley is gunning for back to back wins when Arizona opens a series at Washington Friday. Godley defeated San Diego 6-2 last time out with both runs scoring on six hits over 5.1 frames.
The Washington Nationals are looking for consecutive wins after snapping a four game skid with a 15-2 rout of San Francisco on the road. Washington starter Max Scherzer upped his record to 5-1 with both runs allowed in six frames where he whiffed ten.

Washington kicks off the series against Arizona with Stephen Strasburg on the bump. Strasburg comes in off of a 4-0 loss at the LA Dodgers where he allowed two runs over seven innings and struck out ten.
Under is 5-2-1 in Arizona last 8 overall and under is 5-2-1 in Arizona last 8 on grass and Arizona are 14-6 in their last 20 overall. Washington are 1-4 in their last 5 overall and are 1-4 in their last 5 home games and are 55-17 in Strasburg’s last 72 starts. Arizona are 6-14 in the last 20 meetings in Washington and are 11-27 in the last 38 meetings.
The Diamondbacks look like the real deal but I’m hoping the bats have awoken and Strasburg takes control on the mound…
