The Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals meet Saturday in game one of an MLB doubleheader at Kauffman Stadium.

The Chicago White Sox have lost eight of their last 10 games when allowing more than three runs. The Kansas City Royals also need a victory here after losing 10 of their last 12 games. The Royals have allowed 19 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in six straight games. The Kansas City Royals have lost 15 of their last 16 games when allowing more than two runs. Offensively, Mike Moustakas leads the Royals with 32 hits and 19 RBI while Whit Merrifield and Jon Jay have combined for 46 hits and 11 RBI. Eric Skoglund gets the ball, and he is 0-2 with a 8.59 ERA and 10 strikeouts this season. This will be Skoglund’s second career game against the White Sox.

The White Sox are 4-0 in their last 4 opening games of a double-header, 23-52 in their last 75 road games and 1-4 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series. The Royals are 8-3 in their last 11 opening games of a double-header, 1-10 in their last 11 during game 3 of a series and 1-11 in their last 12 home games. The White Sox are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Kansas City, 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and the under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in Kansas City.

I'm not trying to bet on either of these teams, as the pitching has been downright brutal on both sides, allowing crooked numbers nightly. However, the White Sox have put together a few wins this week and are playing with more confidence at the moment. The Kansas City Royals are just an awful baseball team to put it nicely and have allowed five or more runs in 12 of their last 14 games. I simply can't bet on the Royals. Give me the White Sox if forced to bet this contest.
