The Colorado Rockies and the Miami Marlins duke it out in game two of their three game set from Marlins Park in MLB action on Saturday afternoon.

The Colorado Rockies will look to keep their momentum going after winning three straight following a 1-0 victory in the series opener on Friday. Antonio Senzatela made the game’s biggest impact not on the mound, but by hitting an RBI double in the 5th as the lone run in the ball game. Gerardo Parra went 2 for 3 with a double and DJ LeMahieu added a two-bagger of his own while David Dahl, Ryan McMahon and Trevor Story each had a base hit as well in the winning effort. Tyler Anderson went just 1.1 innings in the start, while the aforementioned Senzatela got the win to improve to 2-1 this season and Wade Davis closed out the 9th with a pair of strikeouts for his 10th save of the year. German Marquez will start game two and is 1-2 with a 6.14 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. In his career, Marquez is 0-1 with a 10.38 ERA and 4 strikeouts against Miami.

Miami Marlins vs. Colorado Rockies - 4/28/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Marlins desperately need a win after losing 16 of their last 21 games, including the series opener on Friday. Derek Dietrich and starting pitcher Jose Arena each had a double while J.T. Realmuto, Starlin Castro, Justin Four and Lewis Brandon each had a base hit as well in the losing effort. The aforementioned Urena deserved better in this start, taking the loss to fall to 0-4 this season after giving up just one run on six hits while striking out five over seven innings of work. Caleb Smith will start game two and is 0-3 with a 5.82 ERA and 32 strikeouts this season. This will be Smith’s first career start against Colorado.

Colorado is 5-2 in Marquez’s last 7 road starts and 8-2 in their last 10 road games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 game 2 matchups. Miami is 0-4 in Smith’s last 4 starts and 1-7 in their last 8 home games against a team with a winning record while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 Saturday games. The under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Miami.

Neither starting pitcher’s record so far this season inspires much confidence, however the Rockies have had lots of success with Marquez starting on the road dating back to last season, while the Fish have had no luck with Smith on the bump this season. It’s not often you’re going to get a low line like this to fade Miami, so jump on it while you can with the much more consistent Rockies offense.
