MLB comes to Progressive Field where the Cleveland Indians battle the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers overcame another late inning collapse to upend Cleveland 8-6 on Tuesday. Texas starter Doug Fister gave up a pair of unearned runs over 6.2 frames before Keone Kela served up a 9th inning grand slam while Alex Claudio won it with three scoreless innings.

The Rangers racked up 15 hits and walked twice with Delino DeShields, Nomar Mazara, Joey Gallo and Isiah Kiner-Falefa all cracking long balls while Jurickson Profar knocked in three runs. Texas hands the ball to Matt Moore for Wednesday’s start at Cleveland. Moore looks to rebound from a 9-4 loss to visiting Oakland where he gave up three runs on seven hits and two BB in five innings.
The Cleveland Indians haven’t found the groove yet and the long awaited hot streak will have to wait another day to begin after Tuesday’s 12 inning loss. Cleveland starter Mike Clevinger allowed three runs over 6.2 frames with Jeff Beliveau giving up three runs without recording an out. Nick Goody surrendered a pair of solo jacks in the 12 to get the loss for the Tribe.
Cleveland totaled 12 hits and three free passes with Michael Brantley crushing a 9th inning grand slam to rally from a 6-2 deficit. The Indians have named Corey Kluber as Wednesday’s starter against the Rangers. Kluber has won four straight after a 6-3 decision versus Seattle where he allowed three runs and struck out ten over 8.2 frames.
Texas are 4-10 in their last 14 games on grass and Texas are 13-27 in their last 40 overall. Under is 16-5-1 in Cleveland last 22 Wednesday games and Cleveland are 49-18 in their last 67 games on grass and Cleveland are 8-3 in their last 11 Wednesday games. Texas are 1-7 in the last 8 meetings.
I think the Indians need a huge performance from Kluber to get a win here which also means a horrid bullpen won’t get much work. Having said that I’m not playing a game with stupid odds…
