Up at Guaranteed Rate Field on Thursday, the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox will be kicking off their weekend MLB series.

The Twins are coming off a set versus the Blue Jays. Minnesota lost the first two games of that series, then on Wednesday the Twins prevented the sweep with a 4-0 win.

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins - 5/3/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

For the Thursday game, the Twins will be bringing out RHP Jake Odorizzi in the start. Over his 32.0 innings and 2-2 record this year, Odorizzi has a 3.94 ERA with 27 Ks.

Heading into the Jays finale, the Twins’ top hitter was Max Kepler with 27 hits, 10 runs and 10 RBI. On Wednesday, Kepler put up a hit with one RBI and one run.

Over on the White Sox side, they just finished up against the Cardinals. Chicago lost on Tuesday 3-2 then on Wednesday the Sox fell again 3-2.

On Thursday, Chicago will be going with Reynaldo Lopez in the start. In his 30.1 innings and 0-2 mark this year, Lopez has a 1.78 ERA with 25 Ks.

Chicago’s leading hitter coming into Wednesday was Yoan Moncada with 30 hits, 17 runs, six homers and 15 RBI. In the Wednesday game, Moncada walked twice but was otherwise 0-for-2.

The Twins are 2-11 in their last 13 overall and 0-7 in their last seven road games. Minnesota is also 0-5 in their last five during game one of a series and the over is 4-0 in tie last four during game one of a series.

Meanwhile, the White Sox are 5-2 in their last seven Thursday games and 2-7 in their last nine during game one of a series. Chicago is also 6-20 in their last 26 overall and 7-19 in their last 26 games on grass.

Lopez is due to get a win anytime here, as he’s pitched pretty well so far (aside from the walks). Odorizzi put up a victory in his last game, so he could come in hot. Still, I’m going to go with the Sox here as this is as good a spot as any to get Lopez that W.
