The Marlins attack consisted of five hits and a base on balls with Lewis Brinson the only player to reach base twice with a single and walk. Miami has named Wei-Yin Chen as Friday’s starter at Great American Ball Park. Chen won his first start by a 4-1 count versus Colorado with the lone run plated over 5.1 innings.

The Cincinnati Reds have struggled in the early stages of 2018 and those struggles continued in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Milwaukee in their series finale’ on Wednesday. Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo fell to 1-4 with a pair of runs plated on nine hits through six innings.

The Reds were limited to four hits and five bases on balls with Devin Mesoraco smacking a run scoring double that plated Billy Hamilton. The Reds give Friday’s starting assignment to Sal Romano who takes the hill for the 7th time in 2018. Romano absorbed a 3-1 defeat last time out where he was charged with all three runs allowed in 4.2 frames.

Miami  are 4-1 in their last 5 overall and  are 7-21 in their last 28 road games. Cincinnati  are 3-18 in their last 21 home games and  are 14-39 in their last 53 overall and  are 14-39 in their last 53 games on grass.

Saying one team is better then the other is splitting hairs so ‘m just going with the better odds…
