The Rockies amassed 15 hits and walked five times with Trevor Story going deep and scoring while Chris Iannetta clubbed a two run bomb. Colorado saw Nolan Arenado go 3-6 with a pair of homers and five RBI’s followed by Charlie Blackmon with an RBI and two runs.
German Marquez gets the ball for Colorado for the series opener at the NY Mets on Friday. Marquez comes off of a 4-1 loss at Miami with three runs allowed (one earned) on three hits and three BB over six innings.
The New York Mets have been off to a decent enough start in 2018 but the team took one on the chin in an 11-0 defeat at the hands of visiting Atlanta on Thursday. Nothing went well for New York with starter Jason Vargas allowing six runs over 4.2 frames with Matt Harvey giving up another five runs in two innings.
The Mets attack consisted of three hits and three walks with six different players reaching base. The NY Mets send Zack Wheeler to the hill to face the Rockies in game one of their series. Wheeler defeated San Diego 14-2 last time out with both runs given up on six hits while striking out nine in five frames.
Under is 7-1 in Colorado last 8 overall and under is 7-1 in Colorado last 8 on grass and under is 14-5-1 in Marquez’s last 20 on grass. Under is 8-3 in NY Mets last 11 home games and over is 8-2-2 in Wheeler’s last 12 home starts and over is 13-5-3 in Wheeler’s last 21 starts on grass. Colorado are 4-13 in the last 17 meetings in New York and over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.
Marquez has not reached five innings in three of his six starts and the Mets were just swept by Atlanta at home and have been shutout in back to back games so you must decide if this game is worth your investment…
