For Saturday’s game, the Twins will be bringing out RHP Lance Lynn. In his 23.2 innings and 0-3 record this year, Lynn has an 8.37 ERA with 26 Ks and 23 BBs.
Minnesota’s leading hitter coming into Friday was Lorenzo Cain, with 29 hits, 18 runs, four homers and 10 RBI. On Friday, Brian Dozier had a triple and a homer among his three hits.
Over on the Sox’ side, they’re going with LHP Hector Santiago on Saturday. In his 20.2 innings this year, Santiago has a 3.48 ERA with 20 Ks.
Yoan Moncada was the top White Sox hitter heading into the Friday game, with 30 hits, 17 runs, six homers and 15 RBI. On Friday, Moncada was 0-for-2.
The Twins are 0-5 in Lynn’s last five starts and 0-4 in his last four starts on grass. The over is 4-1 in the Twins’ last five during game three of a series and 4-1 in Lynn’s last five starts overall.
Meanwhile, the White Sox are 7-21 in their last 28 overall and 3-11 in their last 14 home games. the under is 5-1 in the Sox’ last six Saturday games and 19-6-2 in their last 27 during game three of a series.
Lynn has had a rough go of things lately, giving up a combined 17 earned runs on 21 hits over his last three starts—a span of 14.2 innings. The Sox certainly have an opportunity to jump on Lynn at home here, and if they can keep the Twins’ damage to a minimum on the other side that should open the door for a win. I’ll take Chicago.
