David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Reds will look to rebound and win the series after losing game two on Saturday. Joey Votto went 2 for 4 with a double, while Jose Peraza and Scott Schebler each had base hits to cap off the offense for Cincinnati in the loss, as the Reds mustered up just four hits as a team in the losing effort. Tyler Mahle took the loss to fall to 2-4 this season after allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four over six innings of work. Brandon Finnegan will start the finale and is 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. In his career, Finnegan is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA and 3 strikeouts against Miami.

Miami is 1-6 in Straily’s last 7 road starts and 7-22 in their last 29 road games while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. Cincinnati is 4-18 in their last 22 home games and 0-5 in Finnegan’s last 5 starts while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a right-handed starter. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Cincinnati.

Well, I said yesterday that I thought Cincinnati had turned the corner and could get another win on Saturday aaaaand I was wrong. I’m officially done with the Reds until further notice. With that said, I’m not sure how anybody could consider laying juice with Cincinnati, even against Miami on the road. Straily wasn’t good in his debut, but facing his former team and knowing how some of these guys bat is a bit of an advantage in my eyes. I think Straily puts forth a strong second outing and Miami wins the set.
