The Colorado Rockies rode their pitching to a 2-0 victory at Citi Field on Saturday. The Colorado offense didn’t do much but didn’t have to with starter Chad Bettis allowing six hits and a BB over seven shutout frames.

The Rockies did their damage on six hits and a trio of walks with Nolan Arenado connecting on his 8th long ball while David Dahl singled in Chris Iannetta. The Rockies go with Kyle Freeland on the mound in the series finale’ with the Mets. Freeland comes off of a 3-2 loss to the Cubs where he allowed all three runs on six hits over seven frames.
The New York Mets had nothing going on at the plate against Colorado on Saturday and in the process an outstanding performance on the mound went for naught. New York starter Steven Matz was fantastic in absorbing the loss with three hits given up through six innings pitched.
The Mets offense consisted of six hits and a pair of bases on balls with Asdrubal Cabrera and Jay Bruce logging a pair of hits each. Noah Syndergaard toes the rubber for the NY Mets against the visiting Rockies on Sunday. Syndergaard absorbed a 3-2 defeat to Atlanta last time out with three runs plated on ten hits in six innings pitched.
