The Miami Marlins visit the Chicago Cubs to kick off a weekday series in Monday MLB action.
The Miami Marlins look to put another in the win column after knocking off Cincinnati 8-5 on Sunday. Miami starter Dan Straily allowed a pair of runs on three hits and four bases on balls over four frames with Junichi Tazawa giving up two 9th inning runs.

The Marlins banged out ten hits and walked seven times with Starlin Castro going 2-4 with three runs knocked in and two scored. Miami saw Cameron Maybin drive in two followed by JT Realmuto and Brian Anderson who scored twice each.
Rookie left hander Jarlin Garcia makes his 5th career start at Wrigley Field on Monday. Garcia has been outstanding thus far with a 1-0 record and 1.09 ERA over 33 innings.
The Chicago Cubs have their sights on another National League Central crown in 2018 and the raw numbers say the team has a shot although we are just 31 games in to the season. Chicago averages 4.80 runs on a .246 batting average which makes this the #6 scoring offense in baseball.
The Cubs have been a solid team on the mound as well with a 3.49 team ERA although a 1.34 WHIP and 14 quality starts are just middle of the pack numbers.
The Cubs send Kyle Hendricks to the bump to oppose the visiting Marlins on Monday. Hendricks comes off of a 3-1 loss to Colorado with all three runs allowed on three solo homers in 7.2 frames.
Miami are 8-22 in their last 30 road games. Under is 8-2 in Chicago last 10 overall and under is 8-2 in Chicago last 10 on grass and under is 11-3-2 in Chicago last 16 Monday games. Miami are 1-7 in the last 8 meetings in Chicago.
The obvious question is whether Garcia can keep throwing as he has and that's a guess more then anything. I’m looking elsewhere right now…
