West coast MLB features the Washington Nationals visiting the San Diego Padres on Monday.
The Washington Nationals have finally living up to the hype with wins in seven of eight after downing Philadelphia 5-4 on Sunday. Washington starter Max Scherzer allowed a run over 6.1 frames while striking out 15 before three relievers gave up a run each.

Stephen Strasburg toes the rubber for the Nationals at San Diego on Monday night. Strasburg defeated Pittsburg 9-3 last time out with three runs plated (two earned) over seven frames.
The San Diego Padres have not enjoyed a hot streak of any length but might be heading in that direction after upending the LA Dodgers 3-0 on Sunday. San Diego didn’t light up the scoreboard and starter Eric Lauer didn’t need much help with a seven hitter over six shutout innings.
The Padres pounded out eleven hits and walked three times with Eric Hosmer going deep and driving in two. San Diego saw Franchy Cordero go 3-4 with an RBI while Travis Jankowski went 2-4 and scored twice.
San Diego has named Tyson Ross as the starter in Monday’s bout against visiting Washington. Ross has gone 2-2 in six outings with 1.18 WHIP and 3.28 ERA over 35.2 innings.
Washington are 11-2 in their last 13 Monday games and under is 10-2-2 in Washington last 14 Monday games and under is 31-15-6 in Washington last 52 road games. Over is 8-2 in San Diego last 10 home games and San Diego are 2-6 in their last 8 home games and San Diego are 4-10 in their last 14 Monday games. I assume the money will be on the Nationals but Ross has been very good so I’d do something o the Padres or look elsewhere…
