Coming up Tuesday evening from O.co Coliseum, the Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics will be meeting up in MLB action.
On Monday, the Astros scored six times in the fourth inning on the way to a 16-2 blowout win.

For the Tuesday game, the Astros will be rolling out Lance McCullers for the start. In his 41.0 innings and 4-1 record this year, McCullers has a 3.73 ERA with 49 Ks and 15 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Astros coming into this set was Jose Altuve, with 46 hits, 20 runs and 16 RBI. On Monday, George Springer went 6-for-6 with four runs and three RBI.
Over on the A’s side, they’re going with Sean Manaea on Tuesday. Across 49.2 innings and a 4-3 mark this year, Manaea has a 1.63 ERA with 42 Ks and seven walks.
Jed Lowrie led the way for the A’s coming out of the weekend with 48 hits, 16 runs and 31 RBI with eight homers. On Monday, Lowrie came up empty.
The Astros are 2-6 in their last eight Tuesday games and 4-1 in McCullers’ last five road starts. Houston is also 4-1 in McCullers’ last five starts versus the AL West and 11-3 in his last 14 starts with four days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the A’s are 5-1 in their last six during game two of a series and 5-0 in Manaea’s last five starts with four days’ rest. Oakland is also 4-1 in Manaea’s last five home starts and 1-5 in his last six Tuesday starts.
McCullers has been pretty solid over his last four starts, giving up a combined five earned and completing the seventh inning in three of them. As for Manaea, he was rolling along at a nice clip before giving up four earned in 6.0 innings his last time out. If both guys come out firing, this should be a fun pitching matchup. Ultimately however, I like the Astros to bag the win here.
