Coming up Tuesday afternoon from Busch Stadium, the Minnesota Twins and the St. Louis Cardinals will be meeting up in MLB action.
In the Monday opener of this pair, the Twins bagged an easy 6-0 win, out-hitting the Cards 11-4 on the evening.

For Tuesday’s game, the Twins will be going with RHP Jake Odorizzi. In his 37.1 innings and 2-2 record this year, Odorizzi has a 4.10 ERA with 35 Ks and 18 BBs.
Coming into this set, Minnesota’s top hitters were Eddie Rosario and Eduardo Escobar, each with 33 hits and a combined 42 RBI. On Monday, the pair combined for three hits, three runs and an RBI.
Over on the Cardinals’ side, they’re going with Carlos Martinez for the start on Tuesday. Over 45.0 innings and a 3-1 mark, Martinez has a 1.40 ERA with 45 Ks and 19 walks.
Tops for the Cardinals in hitting coming out of the weekend was Jose Martinez with 34 hits, 18 RBI and 11 runs. In the Monday game, Paul Dejong put up three hits.
The Twins are 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games and the over is 4-1 in their last five during game two of a series. Minnesota is also 5-1 in their last six overall and 8-3 in their last 11 versus the NL Central.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 8-2 in their last 10 Tuesday games and 25-10 in their last 35 during game two of a series. St. Louis is also 9-2 in Martinez’s last 11 Tuesday starts and 6-0 in his last six starts.
Odorizzi has a couple of yucky starts on his stat sheet this year, but he’s been okay over his last pair with four earned in 11.1 innings. Martinez, meanwhile, has been golden over his last six starts, allowing a combined three earned runs in that span. I’m going to go with Martinez to stay hot here and help the Cardinals get a win.
