AL West rivals the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros take the field in Friday MLB action at Minute Maid Park.
The Texas Rangers will look to build on their 5-4, ten inning win versus Detroit where the pen and offense came up big. Texas starter Bartolo Colon was charged with three runs in five frames with four relievers tossing shutout baseball over the final 4.1 innings.

The Rangers did their damage on seven hits and seven bases on balls with Nomar Mazara leading the way with a pair of solo jacks. Texas saw Adrian Beltre knock in two with Isiah Kiner-Falefa driving a run and scoring followed Delino DeShields with a pair of runs.
Veteran left hander Cole Hamels toes the rubber at the Astros on Friday night. Hamels comes off of a 6-5 loss (ND) versus the visiting Red Sox where he was charged with three runs over six innings.
The Houston Astros will be gunning for their 4th consecutive victory after downing Oakland 4-1 on the road Wednesday. Houston starter Gerrit Cole improved to 4-1 with six innings of one run baseball while striking out nine.
The Astros banged out ten hits with Max Stassi and Derek Fisher clubbing solo homers while Yuli Gurriel doubled in two runs. Overall every Houston starter but two reached the box score.
The Astros are sending ace Justin Verlander to the bump to oppose the Rangers on Friday. Verlander suffered his first loss in a 3-1 decision at Arizona last time out wit all three runs given up (one earned) in six frames.
Over is 9-2-2 in Texas last 13 overall and over is 7-2-1 in Texas last 10 on grass and under is 6-2 in Texas last 8 Friday games. Houston are 17-5 in their last 22 Friday games and are 29-12 in their last 41 home games and under is 11-5-1 in Houston last 17 home games. Texas are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings and Texas are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Houston.
Houston is always overpriced especially at home with Verlander pitching but I do think the Astros get this one…
