Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Blue Jays will look to rebound and win the set after dropping game two on Saturday. Justin Smoak went 1 for 3 with a solo home run while Anthony Alford added his first RBI of the season to cap off the scoring for the Jays in the loss. Teoscar Hernandez went 2 for 4 with a double, while Kevin Pillar, Richard Urena and Gio Urshela each contributed base hits as well in the losing effort. Marco Estrada fell to 2-3, taking the loss after giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out five over six innings of work. Joe Biagini will get the nod in the finale and is 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA and 8 strikeouts this season. In his career, Biagini is 1-3 with a 6.48 ERA and 25 strikeouts against Boston.

Boston is 26-11 in their last 37 games overall and 15-6 in Pomeranz’s last 21 division starts while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Toronto is 0-9 in Biagini’s last 9 starts against a team with a winning record and 3-13 in Biagini’s last 16 starts overall while the under is 4-1-2 in their last 7 games overall. Boston is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Toronto.

I’m a Toronto fan, so this hurts to say, but I’m not sure why the line is as low as it is here. The Jays at home can be a tough out, but Toronto has had almost no success with Biagini starting, especially against above average teams. Pomeranz is still trying to find his groove, but Boston is still one of the best teams in the AL and given the pitching advantage, a line this low is too good to pass up so I’ll lay the juice with Boston to win the set here.
