Monday MLB action features the Seattle Mariners visiting Target Field to face the Minnesota Twins.

The Seattle Mariners left Detroit needing a quick change of momentum after a 5-4 loss on Sunday. Seattle starter James Paxton gave up three runs on six hits over six frames before Juan Nicasio absorbed the loss with a run scoring in the 9th without recording an out.

The Mariners pounded out eleven hits and walked twice with Kyle Seager going solo for his 7th. Seattle saw Jean Segura go 2-5 with a pair of runs driven in while Ryon Healy logged two hits and scored twice.

Wade LeBlanc draws Monday’s start at Target Field for his third straight starting assignment. LeBlanc received a no decision last time out in a 5-2 defeat at Toronto with a run plated over five frames.

The Minnesota Twins will be looking to get back in the win column following a 2-1 defeat at the Angels on Sunday. Minnesota never got their offense going and a sold performance on the mound went for naught with starter Fernando Romero allowing a run over five frames before Zach Duke gave up a run in the 9th to absorb the loss.

The Twins offense consisted of seven hits and four bases on balls with Joe Mauer rapping a run scoring single that plated Ehire Adrianza who also singled. Minnesota hands the ball to Jake Odorizzi for Saturday’s outing against the visiting Mariners on Monday. Odorizzi comes off of a 7-1 win at St. Louis with the lone run scoring on a solo homer over five innings.

LaBlanc has been on a pitch count and I don’t know how far he’ll go so I’m backing Odorizzi and Minnesota at home…
