The Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles duke it out in interleague action from Camden Yards in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to keep their momentum going after winning five of their last six games, including their series finale against the Mets, salvaging a split with a 4-2 win on Sunday. Nick Williams hit a pinch-hit three run home run, while Carlos Santana added a solo homer in addition to a double to round out Philadelphia’s scoring in the win. Jorge Alfaro went 3 for 4 while Rhys Hoskins added a double and Odubel Herrera added a base hit as well in the winning effort. Aaron Nola got the win to improve to 6-1 this season after giving up one run on nine hits while striking out four over six innings of work. Edubray Ramos notched his first save of the season, closing out the 9th. Nick Pivetta will start the opener and is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA and 42 strikeouts this season. This will be Pivetta’s first career start against Baltimore.

The Baltimore Orioles will also look to keep the momentum going after winning five of their last six games as well, including a 17-1 rout of Tampa Bay in their series finale on Sunday. Joey Rickard led the O’s with five RBIs, going 3 for 5 with a pair of home runs. Danny Valencia went 4 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs, while Trey Mancini went 2 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs. Manny Machado and Craig Gentry each had a double and two RBIs, with Machado going 3 for 5 with a pair of double. Jonathan School added two RBIs to round out the scoring for Baltimore, while Caleb Joseph added a triple. Adam Jones added a base hit as well to cap off the offense for Baltimore in the victory. Dylan Bundy got the win to improve to 2-5 this season after throwing seven shutout innings while striking out seven and allowing just two hits. Andrew Cashner will start game one and is 1-4 with a 4.84 ERA and 40 strikeouts this season. In his career, Cashner is 4-1 with a 2.55 ERA and 42 strikeouts against Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is 10-2 in Pivetta’s last 12 starts and 5-1 in their last 6 games overall while the under is 21-10-3 in their last 34 games against the AL East. Baltimore is 1-5 in Cashner’s last 6 starts and 23-49 in their last 72 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Philadelphia is 1-5 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams and 0-4 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore.

Both of these teams come in hot, with the surprise being Baltimore after their horrendous start to the year. However, the Orioles have struggled with Cashner on the bump so far this season, while the Phillies have been money with Pivetta starting dating back to last season. I’m not sure that the Orioles are completely around the corner yet, so I’ll go with the more reliable option in Philadelphia to get the win Wednesday.
