Wednesday MLB action features the Miami Marlins hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have yet to display their form from 2017 and didn’t have enough answers Tuesday in a 4-2 defeat at Miami. Los Angeles starter Alex Wood gave up two runs (one earned) on nine hits over six frames with Adam Liberatore and JT Chargois allowing a run each in a combined one inning.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Dodgers managed five hits and three bases on balls with Cody Bellinger and Yasiel Puig smacking solo home runs. Walker Buehler has been named as the Dodgers starter for Wednesday’s bout at Miami. Buehler was tagged with his first loss in a 4-1 defeat versus Cincinnati with a pair of runs given up through six frames.

The Miami Marlins haven’t done a lot thus far in 2018 but perhaps Tuesday’s victory versus the Dodgers is the start of something big. Miami starter Wei-Yin Chen gave up three hits in 4.1 shutout frames while four relievers tossed 4.2 innings.

The Marlins pounded out12 hits and walked once with JT Realmuto and Brian Anderson each driving in a run and scoring.  The Marlins will give Wednesday’s start to second year man Caleb Smith. Smith comes in off of a 9-2 defeat at the hands of visiting Atlanta where he gave up a pair of runs on seven hits and two BB over 5.1 innings.

Under is 4-1-1 in LA Dodgers last 6 road games and under is 4-1 in LA Dodgers last 5 vs. National League East. Miami  are 1-4 in their last 5 home games and are 1-6 in their last 7 overall. LA Dodgers are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Miami and are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

I know it’s bucking the odds for the Dodgers losing back to back games to Miami but there is an opportunity for Miami to get another here and I’d back the Fish or walk away…
