The Rockies offense was limited to a single off the bat of Trevor Story and a pair of walks. Chad Bettis toes the rubber against San Francisco for his 9th start for the Rockies on Thursday. Bettis was charged with seven runs on ten hits over five innings of an 11-10 loss to Milwaukee last time out.

The San Francisco Giants look to get back in the win column following a 6-3 defeat to visiting Cincinnati on Wednesday. San Francisco struggled early on the mound with starter Andrew Suarez charged with five runs (four earned) on eight hits through six innings to fall to 1-3.

The Giants pounded out 12 hits and walked twice with Brandon Belt going 2-5 with a solo homer while Andrew McCutchen doubled in a run and scored. San Francisco has named Jeff Samardzija as Thursday’s starter versus visiting Colorado. Samardzija has struggled the past two times out with ten runs plated on eleven hits and five BB in 12.1 frames.
