Great American Ball Park and the Cincinnati Reds host the Pittsburgh Pirates in a MLB NL Central bout.
The Pittsburgh Pirates look to get back in the win column following an 8-5 defeat versus San Diego Sunday that saddled the team with three straight defeats. Pittsburgh starter Trevor Williams was charged with four runs in six innings before Felipe Vazquez gave up four runs without recording an out.

The Pirates attack consisted of ten hits and five walks with Jordy Mercer gong deep while Austin Meadows went 3-4 with a homer and two RBI’s followed by Josh Harrison who had three hits and drove in a run. The Pirates hand the ball to Jameson Taillon for Tuesday’s road start versus Cincinnati. Tallon did not receive a decision in a 3-2 win against the White Sox with two runs allowed on five hits including two homers over 5.2 frames.
The Cincinnati Reds need a change in momentum following a 6-1 loss to the rival Cubs that left the team staring at defeats in five of seven. Cincinnati starter Tyler Mahle gave up four runs on seven hits including three homers over six innings while Wandy Peralta allowed a pair of unearned runs.
The Reds were limited to three hits and a trio of bases on balls with Scott Schebler driving in Alex Blandino with a double. Matt Harvey makes his third straight start for Cincinnati against visiting Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Harvey comes off of a 6-3 win (ND) at San Francisco where he gave up all three runs in a four inning stint.
Under is 8-3-1 in Taillon’s last 12 on grass and under is 8-3-1 in Taillon’s last 12 starts overall. Over is 5-1-2 in Cincinnati last 8 overall and over is 5-1-2 in Cincinnati last 8 on grass and Cincinnati are 2-7 in their last 9 Tuesday games. Under is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings and Pittsburgh are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Cincinnati.
Neither team looks like a great betting opportunity but I’ll throw the Pirates out there with Taillon who has beaten the Reds in 2018…
