The New York Mets go on the road to face the Milwaukee Brewers in a Thursday MLB matchup.
The New York Mets let one get away Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Miami where the offense stalled and an outstanding performance on the mound went for naught. New York starter Jacob deGrom tossed seven scoreless innings while striking out eight before Jeurys Familia gave up two runs in the 9th.

The Mets offense consisted of six hits and three bases on balls with Brandon Nimmo smacking his third homer of the year in the 5th. New York sends Steven Matz to the hill to oppose Milwaukee for the second time in 2018. Matz did not receive a decision in a 5-4 win versus Arizona with all four runs given up on six hits including two homers in four frames.
The Milwaukee Brewers have been at the top of their game and stayed hot with a 9-2 victory versus Arizona on Wednesday. Milwaukee starter Brent Suter gave up both runs on solo homers through 5.2 frames with three relievers putting up zeros.
The Brewers totaled ten hits and eight free passes with Tyler Saladino going deep and driving in two while Travis Shaw connected on a three run bomb followed by Jesus Aguilar with three RBI’s and a run.
Right hander Zach Davies is tabbed for Thursday’s start against the Mets who he sees for the second time this year. Davies comes off of a 2-0 loss at the Cubs with both runs plated on five hits and two BB over 5.2 innings.
Over is 20-5-3 in NY Mets last 28 Thursday games and NY Mets are 6-15 in their last 21 Thursday games and NY Mets are 2-6 in Matz’s last 8 road starts. Milwaukee is having an outstanding season thus far and are probably flying a bit under the radar. I think the juice is a bit high but ‘ll back the Brewers…
