Texas Rangers vs. Kansas City Royals - 5/24/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals banged out eight hits and walked twice with Salvador Perez clubbing his 8th long ball while Drew Butera smacked a two run single. Kansas City has named Danny Duffy as Thursday’s starter at the Rangers. Duffy comes in off of an 8-3 defeat to the NY Yankees with five runs scoring on seven hits and three BB over four innings.

The Texas Rangers rode their offense to a come from behind 12-10 victory against the Yankees on Wednesday. Texas starter Doug Fister was charged with eight runs on eleven hits over 4.1 frames with Tony Barnette giving up two runs in 2/3 of an inning.

The Rangers racked up eleven hits and walked five times with Nomar Mazara going 2-5 with a homer and three RBI’s followed by Ronald Guzman who was 2-4 with a long ball, three runs driven in and two scored. Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Jurickson Profar combined to give Texas six RBI’s and three runs while Delino DeShields scored twice.

The Rangers are going with Austin Bibens-Dirkx for Thursday’s start versus Kansas City. In 24 appearances (six starts) Bibens-Dirkx has gone 5-2 with a 4.67 ERA covering 69.1 innings.

Kansas City are 2-8 in their last 10 games on grass and are 17-35 in their last 52 overall and are 1-10 in Duffy’s last 11 starts. Texas  are 10-25 in their last 35 home games and are 3-7 in their last 10 overall and are 3-7 in their last 10 games on grass. Under is 12-3-3 in the last 18 meetings in Texas and Kansas City are 5-16 in the last 21 meetings.

I don’t know what we’ll see from Bibens-Dirkx so he is the wild card. I’m sitting this one out but for a pick…
