The White Sox offense did their damage on three hits and a walk with Jose Rondon hammering a three run homer in he 4th. Reynaldo Lopez toes the rubber at Detroit in the series opener on Friday. Lopez looks to build on a 3-0 victory against the Rangers with two hits and two walks allowed while striking out eight over eight innings.
The Detroit Tigers open their series with the White Sox shooting for back to back wins after upending Minnesota 4-1 Wednesday that snapped a five game slide. Detroit saw starter Michael Fulmer give up the lone run over 5.2 innings with three relievers putting up zeros.
The Tigers banged out ten hits and walked twice wit Niko Goodrum going 2-3 with a homer, two RBI’s and a pair of runs with seven starters reach base overall. The Tigers have named Mike Fiers as Friday’s starter versus the visiting White Sox. Fiers comes off of a 7-2 loss at Seattle with four runs scoring on six hits including two homers over five frames.
