Saturday MLB action features the Washington Nationals facing the Miami Marlins.
The Washington Nationals turned to their offense to pound out a 9-5 win at Miami Friday. Washington ace Max Scherzer improved to 8-1 with four runs scoring on seven hits and a pair of BB through six innings.

The Nationals banged out ten hits and walked five times with Mike Adams clubbing a two run bomb while Michael Taylor went 2-4 with a homer, to RBI’s and two runs. Washington saw Bryce Harper knock in a pair of runs followed by Andrew Stevenson and Wilmer Difo with two runs each.
The Nationals give Saturday’s start at the Marlins to right hander Tanner Roark. Roark threw the ball well last time out in a 4-1 loss to the LA Dodgers with three runs plated on six hits n a seven inning stint.
The Miami Marlins did some damage against Scherzer and the Nationals but their pitching couldn’t hold up in Friday’s loss. Miami starter Jose Urena was charged with four runs through six frames with Nick Wittgren allowing three runs without recording an out to absorb the loss.
The Marlins totaled ten hits and four bases on balls with Derek Dietrich smacking a two run homer. The Fish received an RBI and two runs from Brian Anderson followed by Starlin Castro who scored twice.
Miami has named left hander Wei-Yin Chen as Saturday’s starter against the visiting Nationals. Chen did not get a decision last time out in a 10-9 loss at Atlanta with two runs given up through 5.1 frames.

I have generally stayed away from Roark but this is a game Washington should win. I’m still staying away…
